Audio Work
Week Six Daily Create Load
TDC 273: Take a photo that encompasses nothing, a void, an absence.

So when I was thinking about what I could possibly do for this assignment, I was searching around the man cave for ideas. Recently one of my light bulbs died so I had taken it it out and left it on the floor near my desk. So it hits me. Photograph the dead, useless bulb, void of everything it once was. I took the picture at a close-up distance, which is kind of my thing. So this was the result!
TDC 272: Add crazy effects to your favorite song! e.g. as if performed by visitors from outer space.
For this Daily Create, I took the opportunity to fool around with Audacity, which is so much fun. I slowed down both the tempo and pitch of the famous song “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles, which is one of my favorites. It may not be the longest clip, but I think it sounds pretty darn alien-like. Hope you all enjoy!
Daily Creates Week Cinco: 1/3 of the way there!
TDC 266: A famous artist said you can never have too much yellow. Draw a picture that proves this.

TDC 265: Record a sound that is interrupted by a totally non-related sound.
TDC 264: Take a photo of advertising that has been painted onto a building. The older the better.

This is my family’s cabinet business. I found it fitting to use this for this daily create; it is painted onto the side of our building back in New Jersey, and has been there for many years. I am proud of this photo, just as I am proud of all the accomplishments of my family
5 Sound Story
I had fun with this assignment as well. It look a little bit of maneuvering concerning how to time each sound, and what sounds would be effect when underlain. It also took some time browsing www.freesound.org for sounds relating to the story I wanted to portray. It isn’t anything out of the ordinary, or super spectacular, but that wasn’t what I was going for. I wanted to lay out something was very simple, yet so known to us that it became almost beautiful. I hope you guys enjoy listening to it!

DS106 Radio Bumper
I found this assignment a ton of fun because I got to try my hand at creating a bumper, or short audio clip designed for radio shows, in order to remind listeners of the station, and in my opinion, to reach out to listeners and emphasize the greatness and uniqueness of the station. I had fun creating this because I took a song called “My Body” by Young the Giant, that I find gets me really pumped up. I kind of split this song up a bit, with also a DS106 audio clip underlying the song, and placing a short static sound clip in between song clips. When the static ends, the song returns with a wave of passion and fury that is awesome, and then fades out. I tried to keep it short, because I know short bumpers are more effective, so I hope you all enjoy! Feel free to comment!

Daily Creates: Week Four
TDC 253: Create a sound clip that plays a song backwards, with a 3 second silence, then followed by the short original clip.
For this Daily Create, I thought to use a Dance song that I really love to listen to called No Beef. It was a cool chance to tool around with a hip song that I am fond of and to do something new with it. To create the Reverse Effect, I highlighted the Clip in Audacity and went to Effects, and then clicked on Reverse.
TDC 254: Create a photograph emphasizing the number three, or three of something.
I decided to photograph the “3″ key on my keyboard because it was a) close and accessible and b) something familiar yet being used for a different purpose.
